New Image Art is one of my favorite galleries in Los Angeles. Marsea Goldberg, the gallery director, and her assistant director, Amber Abramson, have an acute eye and fervent passion for the vanguard of the avante-garde in contemporary urban-inspired art. And Marsea also has a shewd wit, which, back in the day, I often tapped during my lunch breaks. I was and still am a bit intimidated by the level of talent she represents, but I hope to one day (soon) attain that level (or something close to it) and present my work for their review. In the meantime, I offered my design services recently to get involved and support a great independent gallery. I may not be producing ground-breaking work, but at least I am helping to promote those people who are. Here are a few postcard/flyers that I've worked on. I look forward to making many more...

Look Ma! I'm in a video clip!
Back in May of 2009, I created and donated a portrait of David Lynch to the Stoked Mentoring Art Show, which raised money for a good cause: mentoring at-risk youth through the fun and discipline of surfing, skating, and snowboarding. The theme was "I love L.A." and there were some great pieces. My friend Ritzy P is also featured, and offers a few deep soundbites. I'm not quite as eloquent. But my David Lynch did sell, so that is a first. I can now check "Selling a piece of artwork at an artshow" off of my To Do list. My next goal is: "Sell a piece of artwork at a gallery for personal income." Wish me luck!

Infinite Doodlez

Hello World...So my first art-related blog is to shamelessly plug my self-produced pocket sketchbook, Doodlez, which I made to help promote my design studio, Infinite ZZZ.
The wallet-size sketchbook has a killer cover with original illustrations, 32 blank pages, and it's made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper. That means no additional trees were harmed in the making of the book (I hope).
It only costs a whopping $6, so if you're interested in purchasing a copy for yourself, for your friend, or for your grandpa (who uses tiny pieces of paper to write notes down, like mine does--big ups to ya GA) please contact me at jawsh@infinitezzz.com.
Thanks!
